i have 2 issues here, first is i can't access friend requests or friends list and 2 when i upload pics they very seldom show up on home page as a recent upload!

So the images on the home page for the most part filter out the genitals. So is that is the case, that is why your not seeing it.

It's not a huge issue, but I will suggest putting the login at the top of the homepage by the sign up link. When I go to log in I have to go all the way to the bottom of the page. Again, it's not that big of a deal thing.

I had a friend request also, and it didn't show up as a notice... I only saw it when I clicked on their profile and saw a pending request off the right side pull down menu fyi.
