Account

How do I sign up?

Click Join Free at the top of any page. You'll create a username, enter your email, set a password, and confirm your age. You must be at least 18 to use WOK.

You'll receive a verification email or, if you're in the US and provide a phone number, a text message with a code. Enter the code to activate your account.

Why can't I sign up with a numeric-only username?

Numeric-only usernames are blocked because they conflict with our internal URL structure for profiles and cause routing issues. Please choose a username that contains at least one letter.

How do I log in?

Click Log In at the top of any page and enter your username (or email) and password.

I forgot my password. What do I do?

On the login page, click Forgot Password. You can reset it via email or, if you're in the US and have a verified phone number on file, via SMS. Follow the link or code you receive to set a new password.

How do I change my email address or password?

Go to your profile and open the account settings area. You can update your email, password, phone number, and other account info there.

How do I delete my account?

You can delete your account at any time from your profile page. When you delete your account:

  • Your public content is removed from WOK within a reasonable period.
  • Some records may be retained for legal or safety compliance.
  • Messages you sent to other users may remain in their inboxes.

Account deletion cannot be undone. If you want to take a break instead, you can just stop logging in.

Do you offer paid memberships?

Not right now. WOK is completely free to use. If we introduce paid features in the future, we'll notify members before launching them, and everything you currently have will remain free.

Profile

How do I edit my About Me?

Go to your profile page and click the edit button on the About Me section. You have a rich-text editor for formatting (bold, italic, lists, links, etc.). Keep in mind we run everything through a sanitizer so unsupported HTML will be stripped.

How do I add my kinks and interests?

Go to your profile and use the kinks selector to pick from the WOK kink list. Your selections show up on your profile and help others find you through kink-based browsing.

Can I hide my profile from certain people?

You can restrict individual photos and videos to friends only using the visibility controls. You can also block specific users so they can't see your profile or contact you.

For total profile privacy, we recommend keeping sensitive content in friends-only mode and only accepting friend requests from people you trust.

How do I update my location or profile photo?

Go to your profile, click your avatar to change it, and use the profile editor to update location, age, gender, role, or any other profile details.

What does the pink verified badge mean?

The pink Verified badge means a member has completed our optional Video Verification. See the Verification section for how to get one.

Photos & Videos

How do I upload photos or videos?

Go to your profile and use the upload button. You can upload multiple items at once. Files are stored securely and served from our CDN.

Every person shown in any content you upload must be at least 18 years old and must have consented to the content being shared on WOK.

How do the friends-only settings work?

Each photo and video has a Show To toggle. Set it to Friends Only and only your confirmed friends will see the full image or video. For everyone else, the media appears blurred or hidden entirely.

You can change the visibility of any item later from the item's detail page.

Who can see my photos and videos?

Public content (default) is visible to any signed-in WOK member. Friends-only content is only visible to your accepted friends. Anyone who is blocked cannot see any of your media.

What content is not allowed?

The absolute rules — these result in immediate removal and can lead to permanent account termination:

  • Anyone under 18, in any form (real, drawn, animated, AI-generated, or fictional).
  • Non-consensual content or "revenge" posts.
  • Content depicting sexual violence, bestiality, or incest.
  • Solicitation of paid sex work.
  • Doxxing or sharing anyone's private info without consent.

See the Community Guidelines for the full list.

Can I download or "leak" someone else's private content?

No. Sharing someone's content outside WOK, or forwarding private messages, is a violation of our Terms and can result in immediate account termination. Consent matters.

If I delete a photo, what happens?

Deleted photos and videos are removed from your profile and from the Community Feed, and any activity tied to them (uploads, "loves", comments) is removed from Latest Activity feeds.

Video Verification

What is Video Verification?

Video Verification is an optional process that confirms you're a real person behind your profile. Once approved, a pink Verified badge appears on your profile so other members know they're talking to a real member.

How do I get verified?

Go to your profile and open the Video Verification option. You'll record a short (about 30 seconds) video showing your face and confirming a phrase we ask you to say. Submit it for review, and our team will approve it (usually within a few days).

Is Video Verification required?

No — it's completely optional. Some members do it to build trust in the community. Others don't. Either is fine.

Who sees my verification video?

Only our moderation team sees your verification video, and it's used solely for confirming your identity. It is never posted to your profile, sent to other members, or shared publicly.

Can I lose my verified badge?

If your account is suspended or terminated for a Terms violation, your Verified badge may be removed. In rare cases where we can no longer confirm authenticity, we may revoke a badge and ask you to re-verify.

Groups & Discussions

How do I join a group?

Browse the Groups section and click Join on any group you like. Some groups are open (instant join), others may require approval by the group owner.

How do I start a group?

Any signed-in member can create a group. Give it a title, description, and set the rules and visibility. As the group owner you're responsible for keeping content in your group aligned with WOK's Community Guidelines.

How do I start a discussion or reply to one?

Inside any group you're a member of, use the New Topic button. Others can reply, comment on replies, and react to posts.

Can I attach images to discussions?

Yes, from most topic pages. Attached images follow the same content standards as photo uploads.

What happens if my group breaks the rules?

Groups that violate our Community Guidelines may be removed. Repeatedly running rule-breaking groups can result in account termination.

Kinky Ads

What are Kinky Ads?

Kinky Ads are user-created classifieds. Think of them as short posts where members can describe what they're looking for — a play partner, a specific fetish, a scene, a connection, etc. Ads can include an image and are filtered by state and interest.

How do I post an ad?

Go to the Kinky Ads section and click New Ad. Fill in your title, description, optional image, choose a state (defaults to your home state), and submit. Every ad is reviewed by our moderation team before it goes live.

How long does moderation take?

Most ads are reviewed within a few hours. Depending on volume, it can take longer. You'll get a notification when your ad is approved or declined.

Why was my ad rejected?

The most common reasons:

  • Solicitation of paid sex or escort services.
  • Non-consensual content or another user without their permission.
  • External contact info (phone, links, other platforms) that violates our rules.
  • Content that violates the Community Guidelines.

If you disagree with a rejection, reply to the notification email or contact support.

Can I edit or delete my ad?

Yes. Go to your Kinky Ads dashboard to edit, extend, pause, or delete any of your ads.

Messaging

How do I send a message?

Open any user's profile and click Message, or use the chat icon in the header. WOK Chat works in real time using WebSockets — new messages appear instantly.

Are my messages private?

Direct messages are private between you and the recipient. However, they are not end-to-end encrypted. We may access messages when investigating abuse, spam, or safety issues, or when required by law. Don't share anything in messages you wouldn't want a moderator to potentially see.

Someone is harassing me in chat. What do I do?

You can block them from their profile, which will prevent them from messaging you, seeing your profile, or contacting you in any way. Use the report button to also flag their behavior to our moderation team.

Can I send images in chat?

Yes, you can attach images to your messages. Never send explicit content to someone without asking first. Unsolicited explicit content is a violation of our Community Guidelines.

Why can't I message a certain user?

They may have blocked you, or their privacy settings may restrict messages to friends only. If you think there's a technical issue, contact support.

Safety & Rules

How do I report someone or something?

Every profile, photo, video, ad, group, and message has a report option. Use it to flag content or behavior that violates our Community Guidelines. Reports involving minors are treated as top priority.

You can also email [email protected] with details.

What happens when I report someone?

Our moderation team reviews the report and takes appropriate action, which may include removing content, warning or restricting the user, banning the account, or reporting to law enforcement if applicable. We keep reports confidential from the person being reported.

How do I block someone?

Open their profile and click Block. Blocked users cannot see your profile, message you, view your content, or find you in search. You can unblock later from your account settings if you change your mind.

My content or account was removed. Can I appeal?

Yes. Reply to the notification we sent you or email [email protected] with your username and what you'd like us to review. We aim to respond within a few business days.

Is WOK safe for adults?

We work hard to keep it safe. Our security measures include TLS encryption, password hashing, brute-force protection, rate limiting, an active moderation team, and community reporting. That said, no online platform is 100% safe. Trust your instincts, use privacy features, and don't share more than you're comfortable with.

Can I bring my partner or a friend into my account?

You are responsible for everything that happens under your account. If you share access, you're on the hook for anything they do. In most cases we recommend each person have their own account so you have your own privacy, messaging, and settings.

Billing

Does WOK cost money?

No. WOK is completely free. There are no paid tiers right now. If we ever introduce paid features, we'll notify members clearly before launching them.

Do you offer refunds?

There's nothing to refund — everything on WOK is free. If we introduce paid features in the future, we'll publish a refund policy at that time.

I see a charge on my card that says WOK. What is it?

WOK does not charge users for anything at this time. If you see an unfamiliar charge, please contact your bank immediately — it may be fraudulent activity unrelated to us. If you have questions, contact [email protected].
